Kicking Horse Day Trip
The Champagne Powder Capital of Canada™
If you’re skiing Revelstoke for an extended period of time and would like to experience some new terrain or you would like to check another ski resort off your bucket list while on vacation, join us on a day trip to Kicking Horse. The town of Golden sits just under two hours east of Revelstoke and is home to the Champagne Powder Capital of Canada™, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Famous for its bowl and tree skiing, KHMR also features a village at the base of the ski hill complete with steakhouse, bar and bistro and many other amenities for the whole family. Organising such a trip while on vacation can be a hassle, we’ll handle all of the transportation, logistics & lift tickets leaving you to enjoy your day skiing Kicking Horse.
Vertical – Kicking Horse’s ridgeline sits at 2,504 meters, making it the 5th highest ski-resort in North America. The vertical drop from the ridgeline to the base of the gondola is 1314 meters.
Bowl Skiing – KHMR sits along a ridge, gifting access to 5 different bowls and over 85 inbound chutes. This terrain offers some fantastic black and double black skiing in its famously champaign powder laden bowls.
Tree Skiing – In between each bowl lies strips of perfectly spaced glades, great for perfecting your turns in deep powder. These sections provide some of the best tree skiing in Canada and can be endlessly lapped all day long.
Slackcountry – Thanks to its ridgeline, like Revelstoke Mountain Resort, the terrain at Kicking Horse can be explored further with a pair of skins and an avalanche pack. Hike or skin along the ridgeline and drop into some of the less accessible bowls at the resort, which are often less tracked than those with easier access.
Arrive Kicking Horse @ 08:30 – We arrive at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort just in time for the first lift. You’ll make a quick stop at guest services to pick up your lift passes and then spend the rest of the morning skiing to your heart’s content.
Lunch – Lunch is not included in the package, however, you have a variety of options both on and off the mountain. Eagle’s Eye Restaurant sits at the top of the gondola and features a spectacular view of the resort and the surrounding valley. There are also several other options at the base of the resort.
Optional Stop – If your group is ravenous after a full day of skiing, there are many dining options both at the resort and in Golden itself. An extra stop can be made for $50 per 60 minute period.
Depart Kicking Horse @ 15:30 – After another epic few hours of skiing, our driver will meet you at the base of the resort, load your gear into the van and we’ll begin our journey back to Revelstoke.
Arrive Revelstoke @ 17:00 – Thanks to the time difference, you’ll arrive back in Revelstoke with the whole evening remaining to reminisce about your runs and grab a nice dinner in one of Revelstoke’s many fantastic restaurants.
